I’m Alex, I just started getting involved with GRIN, and this is my story:

For the first 12 years of my life I had been bullied in a number of ways: name calling, aggressive violence, and lots of other hurtful things.  Here is how it happened, my primary school was a good one with good teachers, a good amount of work and good people, but there was the exception of the boys who made my life a misery.  I will not them but they were not very nice to me because I was the tallest.  They would call me names like freak, giant and many other horrid names.  I put up with it for 6 years and then it came to the end of the year and I was so pleased that it was the end of the year because I could not wait to go to senior school but I was in for a big surprise that senior school was going to be even worse.

Finally it came to the start of senior school and I realised that one of my friends had also joined the school and so I hung out with him a lot and I thought for the first couple of weeks that senior school was great but I was wrong, so very wrong.

It was the year 7 assembly and the head call out my name and congratulated me on my hard work because I was getting high grades.  This is how the bulling started.  So what happened was that the boys in my class thought I was stuck up and so they called me names, and then one afternoon there was a boy and he came up to me and swung his fist at me and knocked me on to the floor.  It was not a good feeling because it triggered something in me and so I got up and punched him straight in the face and then he got his whole group of friend to beat me up.

For the rest of that year and the start of the next term I put up with it and in the end I got a chance to get into a private school and my life is now great.  I am no longer suffering bullying and am able to be myself.
